How to Play Spider Solitaire

  1. The Goal: Arrange all cards in descending sequences from King to Ace within the same suit.
  2. The Setup: The game uses 10 columns of cards. Some are face up, others are face down.
  3. Moves: You can move face-up cards to create descending sequences. An empty column can only be filled by a King.
  4. Revealing Cards: When you move a card, the one beneath it is turned face up.
  5. Drawing Cards: When you're out of moves, you can deal more cards by clicking the stock pile.

Tip: Try to uncover as many face-down cards as possible and build sequences of the same suit.

Spider Solitaire Rules

Basic Rules

  • Cards can only be stacked in descending order.
  • A complete King-to-Ace sequence of the same suit is automatically removed.
  • You can move single cards or valid, same-suit sequences.
  • Any card or sequence can be placed in an empty column.

Difficulty Levels

  • Easy: One suit (all Spades).
  • Medium: Two suits (Spades and Hearts).
  • Hard: Four suits.
  • The more suits, the harder it is to complete sequences.

Winning Strategies

Uncover Hidden Cards

Your priority should be to reveal face-down cards to open up more move options. Try to empty columns so you can place Kings there.

Build Same-Suit Sequences

Focus on creating sequences of the same suit. This makes it easier to move them as a single block later on.

Manage Empty Columns

Empty columns are incredibly valuable. Use them strategically to reorganize cards and build longer sequences.

Don't Deal New Cards Too Soon

Exhaust all possible moves before dealing from the stock. Each new deal complicates the board and can block potential sequences.

Remember: Not every game of Spider Solitaire is winnable. Sometimes the deal is just too tough, but a good strategy always increases your chances!
